i am so happy when i have the time for mixed media..for some reason i love it but need to plan it ahead…and i decided to establish my Creative Saturdays…so i tried hard to have everything done..the house has to be clean because i feel guilty when it is not ….i need to feel it fresh and clean in order to be productive and make my art with peace of mind…and it worked….. i’ll show two new mixed media i worked on my first Creative Saturday…they were inspired in two tiles i used to make in ceramic and sell since 2003… i will not make them again in ceramic…so sorry for PR Arts and Crafts Store in Puerto Rico who likes to sell them in the Christmas season.. i will make these new ones in giclees and in sublimated tiles….actually i already made them in tiles and they look gorgeous…some stores are already interested …and i believe they will be a hit…. here they are…
Hacia Belén…with Love, Peace and Joy
The originals are already sold…Hurray!! Highest quality prints are available as well as 4.25×4.25 and 6×6 tiles..the look gorgeous…Promise…you will not be disappointed…
Last year I made a few christmas sketches for Sunday Sketches and I knew I wanted to make some cards from them. A year later and with my Sublimation Project fever I scanned it and made this sketch with a font I designed. I don’t know the process of creating fonts and it was very difficult. Maybe someone could teach me how to make it more easily. I wrote Feliz Navidad (Merry Christmas) and with the help of PhotoShop I designed a few tiles..This is one of them… Do you think it will be good in a card or a trivet?
I will be making a few tiles for the upcoming Christmas Bazaars and maybe this will be one of them. I will make some holes inthem to add a cord with handmade ceramic bead I am making. I hope they will show up great.
I am sharing this with my friends on Sunday Sketches with the talented Sophia from The Blue Chair Diary…
Have a great week! ..Enjoy the Ride!!
Sunday..Ummm, time for Sunday Sketches and last opportunity for this week’s The Summer of Color, in which I decided to participate with colored sketches using watercolors for Alisa Burke’s e-course. Well, I will not be using watercolors again because I haven’t started the course. I am working really hard trying to complete the deposit for my Borboletas Production, in which I am a little behind. (if you want to help, information is in the previous post). Plus, I am in Summer Cleaning Mood. My bedroom is finished, my painting studio, the guest room. Now I am heading to the ceramic workshop, which is the worst of all. And, and…even that I tried hard not to be back in a “real job”:(…. I had to. But..(another but)..it is the perfect fit for my artistic journey and my creative business. It came in the perfect timing and I am so grateful and happy and blessed. It is a great story that I will share soon. For now I want to share two sketches, one in green and the other in PINK and how this simple sketches turned out to be a fabric or paper design with PINK as the dominant color. Perfect for this week’s challenge in The Summer of Color.
And some PhotoShop editing…..
The background can be change to any color…and I love it in white ….maybe I will turn it into a piece of fabric and sew a dress for my sweet Aliany or change it to black for a blouse for me…What do you think?
Until next post…
One of my first paintings in a formal painting class was a set of 4 teapots. By that time my painting knowledge was almost zero and I tried hard to sketch and paint the 4 teapots the teacher gave us. She liked the painting and told me to work on the fourth teapot which I couldn’t finish in the 3 hours class. I went home with that homework and nothing happened for almost four years when I finally enrolled in a painting class for good. I never finished the other course. Now I wanted to make a sketch with those teapots I adore using my favorite color..GREEN. This is part of a weekly challenge for The Summer of Color. I am enjoying this summer project so far and we are just in the beginning of the challenge. So here is my sketch…in Greens and on my 2012 Sketchbook Project journal:
This next sketch was made a few weeks ago for Sunday Sketches but couldn’t post it. I was wondering why I keep drawing cups, teapots, cats, dogs, umbrellas…simple things from everyday life. I found out, as I was painting this next sketch, that it has to do with my childhood and all the gatherings in my grandparents house. I see the three cups as a family or friend’s reunion, chatting, laughing and enjoying a cup of tea….coffee…or chocolate.
I want to extend an invitation for my Pre-Sale Activity of the Set of 5 Ceramic Butterflies. This Idea was given to me by some online friends in the lovely group of Flyers from KRR’s E-course we all enrolled last Summer. I need a huge amount for the deposit in order to make this dream possible. The manufacturers required a large amount of sets to begin with. If you are interested please take a look at the last blog post, here. If not, don’t be sorry,,,but keep praying! This project means a lot to me…and to my creative business, which I want to keep improving!
Have a lovely Week,
I am away and I left all my watercolors. I was committed to practice sketches using pens and watercolors as learned in Sketchbook Delight Course with Alisa Burke. What I did bring were my favorite pens…Faber Castell Pitt Artist Pen. Then I sketched an umbrella..in Blue tones because this is the first color for .
I have a crush for umbrellas…maybe someday I could design real umbrellas, matching my passion for product development and design with this crush. So here it is…and inside my Sketchbook Project 2012 in which I choose the theme…”This is a Sketchbook”……My Blue Umbrella: “Feeling Safe with Love”
Linking this sketch, too, with Sunday Sketches at Blue Chair Diary. On Sunday I will be traveling to Washington with my “daddy” sons, my daughter in law, Anyelis and my adorable grandson Javier….So so happy to have this opportunity.
